The Chair or co-chairs are responsible for creating the cruising calendar by the February Board of Directors meeting with the input of skippers and members of the committee. The publishing deadline for the schedule is February 15. The Chair is also responsible for creating a report for and attending, monthly Board meetings, as well as writing and submitting the Cruising Corner article for each Whisker Pole. Throughout the year, the Chair is to monitor the sailing activities and help where needed.

The responsibility of the Cruising Committee is to create and execute the SOS schedule of day sails, weekend cruises, and extended cruises. Discussion and creation of the SOS schedule of sails begins well in advance of the sailing season which typically runs April through October.

Volunteers are needed for a variety of sub-committees specific to the Cruising
